Last updated: 16 January 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by Abbotts Events Limited ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.
By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
2. Booking Process
All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by us. A booking is only confirmed when:
- You have received written confirmation from us (by email or letter)
- The required deposit has been received
- Both parties have agreed to the event details and pricing
3. Deposits and Payment
Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total estimated cost is required to secure your booking. This deposit reserves the date and specified services exclusively for your event.
Final Payment
The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event date. For bookings made within 14 days of the event, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Payment Methods
We accept payment by bank transfer, credit/debit card, or other methods as agreed. All prices quoted include VAT unless otherwise stated.
4. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by You
If you need to cancel your booking, the following charges apply:
- More than 60 days before: Deposit forfeited
- 30-60 days before: 50% of total cost
- 14-29 days before: 75% of total cost
- Less than 14 days: 100% of total cost
Cancellation by Us
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer a full refund of all payments made. We will not be liable for any additional costs or consequential losses.
5. Changes to Your Booking
We understand that event plans can change. Please notify us as soon as possible of any changes:
- Date changes are subject to availability and may incur additional charges
- Guest number adjustments should be confirmed at least 7 days before the event
- Menu changes should be finalised at least 14 days before the event
6. Event Requirements
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate event details (location, timings, access arrangements)
- Ensuring suitable access for our vehicles and equipment
- Obtaining necessary permissions from venue owners
- Providing power and water supply where required
- Notifying us of any dietary requirements or allergies
Our Responsibilities
We will provide the agreed services to a professional standard, including all necessary equipment, staff, and ingredients. We hold appropriate food hygiene certifications and public liability insurance.
7. Food Safety and Allergies
We take food safety seriously. Please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking. While we take precautions to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment due to the nature of mobile catering.
It is your responsibility to communicate any allergy information to your guests and to inform us of all dietary needs in advance.
8. Liability
We maintain comprehensive public liability insurance for our operations. However:
- We are not liable for losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control
- Our liability is limited to the value of the contract
- We are not responsible for venue-related issues or third-party supplier failures
9. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: severe weather, natural disasters, pandemic, government restrictions, civil unrest, or other events making performance impossible or impractical.
10. Adverse Weather
For outdoor events, we will do our best to operate in all reasonable weather conditions. However, if conditions become unsafe (severe storms, high winds, etc.), we reserve the right to modify our service or setup. This does not constitute grounds for a refund unless services cannot be provided at all.
11. Photography and Media
We may take photographs at events for marketing purposes. If you do not wish your event to be photographed or featured in our marketing materials, please inform us in writing before the event.
12. Complaints
We strive for excellent service. If you have any concerns, please raise them with our staff on the day so we can address them immediately. Any formal complaints should be submitted in writing within 7 days of the event.
